(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? well we aren't new to caring for chickens, and pretty sure both of us cared for chickens before we were even a family!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? funny thing...we don't currently have any chickens. we have our 8ish month old pekin drake, Ferdinand!

(3) What breeds do you have? see above

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? he is such a wonderful companion to me, and a great addition to our already nutty Brady bunch!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? with 5 kids...? whatever their hobbies are right now! I'm also in a wheelchair, so figuring out ways to do pretty much anything is entertaining!

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. my husband and I are two colorful (tattooed) nerds living in our 'hobbit house'. I'm in a wheelchair. we have a boatload of kids (1 girl, 4 boys), and an odd duck!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D We have found ourselves looking up information and questions about Ferdinand constantly on BYC so figured it was about time that we actually became part of the community!

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

Lots of us lurked a while before joining. You can only get so many answers from reading, at some point you will need to post!

As for the title under your screen name, here is a thread that explains all the titles and trophy point level things... https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/new-trophy-point-levels.1251359/

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our roost!

:welcome With five children, you need more ducks! I think sixteen more is a good start! :clap
Thank you for sharing the picture of your drake.
Have fun getting comfortable around BYC, and making new friends!

oh geeze if we had the space/yard for them we'd have as many ducks possible (before someone calls the city and I became "THAT lady")! we have a very small place, hence why we call it the hobbit house, and don't even have a fully fenced yard. luckily Ferdie is terrified of everything, including being too far from me for too long, so he sticks around. but if I had to change 17 ducks diapers all day, I might implode from the smell. one duck diaper already packs one helluva punch to the nostrils!
