Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! And thanks for informing me about the duck diaper!!! Nope. don't want a duck. :sick But, I think you should have a few more, you know, just so he has friends. :lau So, glad you joined us! Are you considering a small flock of chickens for your small house?

I def never thought I'd be changing diapers again after the kids grew out of them! we are definitely thinking of getting him a buddy when the season comes. he's just so not like a duck that we aren't sure how he'd respond to another? he's pretty spoiled too! if we were to get chickens, we would have to build a really good secure coop that had a nice hiding spot. the part of town we live in is right under the foothills and mountains, and the wild animals are very proficient at breaking into places! plus our hobbit house is one of two cottages that share the property of a much bigger old historical house (that's also split into two places), and we are all the way in the back up against the alley, so we don't even have a 'real' yard. BUT my husband and I were homeless for 2 years before this so this, or anything, is a million times better than sharing a 90 Toyota Camry with a grown man! this place is perfect for just the one duck tho. he's made it his home and thinks he runs the place!

this was him in his pool today! finally it wasn't totally freezing today!

Love the photo!!!! I think you need to do what's best for your situation. It is hard to keep chickens safe from predators. Everyone loves chicken!

I'm so sorry you had such a hard time for the last 2 years, and I'm very happy that things are turning around for you!!!
