shut the bator off this morning assuming no more chicks were to hatch in this batch. Cleaned it out and was opening the unhatched eggs to see why they didn't hatch and 3 fully developed...STILL ALIVE chicks were there. 1 of them had fully absorbed the yolk sac so I put him under heat...fully warning the kids that he probably won't make it...but we have to try. He is actually perking up...opening eyes and breathing regularly. I am realistic though...

Today was day 19 and I have always in the past waited until day 20-21 to shut it off...guess I should of this time as well.

Had a few duds...a few that stopped early on...a few that were fully developed....and 28 little fuzzy butts cheeping away in my living room.

forgot.....they spent the day in about 65 degrees....I was shocked that some were still alive.

And We'll Be Naming This 1 "lucky?"

I accidentally left a pheasant egg out of the incubator overnight one time and didn't know it till I went in to see what was peeping. He made it.
