Yup! That’s me. I am new. Hi y’all. I’m Debbie.

My new adventure began when I picked up the first 24 chicks of my first flock on April 8th. After an unfortunate mob drowning of one, I have managed to feather out 23 beautiful chickens, six of whom I believe are cockerels.

Since that life changing day in April, my flock has grown to 38 and I’m no longer allowed to go to Tractor Supply Company unsupervised.

My Flock:
11 - Bovans Browns (Pullets)
6 - Rhode Island Red (Straight Run-2P/4C)
6 - Black Australorps (Straight Run-4P/2C)
7 - Bantams (allegedly) - Interesting story...
2 - White Turkey Poults (hen & Tom)
2 - Red Turkey Poults (hen & Tom)
2 - Phoenix (Straight)
2 - Delaware (Straight)

I am a widow of two years. Motorcycle wreck. I have seven children ages 23, 21, 20, 18/18 (twins), 17, 15. Employed in Plastic Manufacturing as Business Analyst. But furloughed thanks to Covid. I couldn’t be happier!

I met Tim, my boyfriend, on Valentine’s Day. Cliché, I know. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We’ve been together ever since. He is a farmer, retired Special Forces, and just graduated with a degree in Agronomy. I’ve spent my entire furlough on his smas small farm. Which has brought me to the realization that this is the life I’ve always been meant to live. That life that has always fascinated me, but which I’ve never been exposed.

I’m in love. I am happy. And, I am in the process of relocating from West to Tim’s Farm in Western Kentucky.

I stumbled on this group while googling information on a Rhode Island Red/Black Australorp cross.

So... yeah. Hi!!!!
