Got a big start on the coop this weekend. Cleared the 80 years of junk piling that was left in my barn and in the area where my run will be. Sowed wheat in the run. I also got down a bunch of old tobacco rails from up in the top of the barn and began concreting my corner posts in. I feel like once I have a plan for my nesting boxes, another solid weekend of work should complete the coop. That's a good thing because the chicks will be old enough at the end of July, and I only have 2 weekends off before then. My only concern is the tree that's in my run looks like a wild cherry tree. I'm not for sure but I need to find out. I know cherry trees are deadly for cattle and goats, I assume its the same for poultry. I hope it's not because the shade tree is the reason I picked that area for the run
