Is well water ok to use as the only water source for my chickens. It's all I have here, and don't want to buy water. But don't know if it's safe.

I use well water for my flock, had no problems. I use the same water for home use. The only thing that I see if that if the water is not changed, you will see pink slime start to grow in the plastic containers.

I have well water for the house, and if it's good enough for people I'm sure it is good enough for animals. But I use a rain barrel for my chickens, because I don't want to have to carry water or run a hose all the way to the coop. The rain barrel is fantastic. I drop a tiny bit of chlorine tablet or bleach in it once a month or so to keep algae out. Likewise, I've recently started using ACV to keep algae out of the chicken water.

I do get that pink stuff in my sink and shower. What is that, a Bacteria? Does it mean I should put bleach in my well?

That's what I have rust I think everything turns orange, how do you filter may I ask? The price I pay to live in a rural area. As long as the chickens tolerate it it will be fine.

We use a water softener, an iron filter, and a whole house filter, our water is so saturated with iron, we also run our drinking water through reverse osmosis filters, sound like over kill, but it's what we have to do, I use the softener water on plants, animals and keep a few aquariums, so don't let people say you can't use it, because I have seen no problems in any of my animals.

Water conditioner.

A bit of iron won't harm you or your animals.

Why not bottle up your well water and sell it as healthy mineral water? Likely way over 90% of the bottled water on your neighborhood grocery store shelves starts life at the bottling plant as well or tap water.

The only limit to your claims is now fertile your imagination is.
