Looks like I found out who took my hen a couple weeks ago. He’s been by about every 4 days in the afternoon or early evening. This time though I snapped a picture while he was running around the coop trying to get in. The dogs and I ran him off. Again. This is why my birds cannot free range on the beautiful pasture! :hitIf only the chickens understood staying locked up was for their protection! I’m thinking about tying my dogs out by the coop To deter this coyote. They have chased it off numerous times. The birds need to have SOME fresh food. It’s killing all of us that they can't be out anymore!

I feel your pain. I don’t even have my chicks yet and I have to deal with keeping this beautiful Grey Fox out of the coop I’m building. I snapped this picture after watching him take a 40 min nap in the grassy field in my neighbors yard. He was watching me too and I saw him grab one of our pesky squirrels a couple days ago. 6 squirrels in ones yard is too many anyway IMHO. 👍

Can you maybe make a secondary enclosure with some t posts and some sort of wire fencing just for them to go out into during the day? I live in a rural area, lots of coyotes and foxes here. We build a coop, then a primary run, then a secondary run around that. Looks like you have a coop and a primary run. The secondary run is just some t post fencing and wire fencing with garden staples holding the fencing down. We also put aviary netting over the whole shebang to deter the hawks we have.

i know its a bit gross but have any boys in your home pee all around ypour coop and property line and have youur dogs do the same and cut some fur of the dogs and sprinkle outside of coop if our desperate get a trap and he wont come back keep me updated!!

It’s possible but not likely to happen. My Husband is working full time and we have So. Many. Projects. that need completed first.

It’s not gross. I’ve heard that before. It might be worth asking him to save his pee again

it works too one of my friennds had his sons do it and theyve never had any problems but they also stay out there whille his chooks free range so...

if your desperate and he doesn't go away after that get a pellet gun or something and do the deed
