Anyone know the difference between a standard cochin and a GIANT cochin??

Also, anyone order recently from WELP?

Thanks!

So, just so I can wrap my brain around it.... Giant and standard will mature to the same size? I ask only because some hatcheries call them GIANT and some call them Standard
Thanks so much!

They are all 'giant' compared to the bantam cochins!

Yup...although certain bloodlines may mature larger than others...they are just bigger than bantams.

I have seen standards then I have seen giant standards. Someone (I don't remember who) on BYC has some huge black cochins that make standards look petite.

I was wondering if Miss Prissy or anyone reading this knows of hatching eggs available from Giant- gantic, gi-normous, cochins, seriously. I really want a lot of height, thanks,

I got standard Cochins from Welp last year. They are okay. The roos were a nice size and they tasted good , too.
The pullets are a decent size but not as large as I thought considering what the boys matured to at 6 months old. And still the pullets aren't nearly the size of my Jersey Giant pullets but they are very pretty with very good foot feathering. Well, the black and blues are but the Partridge are not too great and they are smaller.
If you are looking for quality, go to a breeder.
