Welsh Harlequin Ducklings

Hello!

Just wanted to share our 4 new Welsh Harlequin Ducklings, hatched down the road at the Yachats Hatchery.

Very, very cute. Welsh Harlequins are next on my list. Keep posting pics as they grow up.

I have a pair of these guys. They are now about 16 weeks old.

I should have a female and male as one quacks and one makes the hissy noises, and they were said to be able to sex @ 1 day old by beak coloring, darker vs. lighter...I dont know if thats accurate or not, but I know the quacking thing is accurate. lol.

I cant wait till my male gets his coloring in!

Awww...if you get pics of their beaks we will be able to tell you their sexes!

Oooh, is the beak-sexing thing reliable? The breeders said they "didnt" sex ducks. The woman who handed them off said she suspected something by looking at their feet but wasn't sure. I can definitely start to work on getting some beak pics. Should I post them here or is there a better subforum for it?

Dutchhollow, if you mean are those stripes really there and not a trick of a camera, yes they are there. Its not exactly grey and white, though.
