I have heard that they can be, but mine have not gone broody. Do you have a broody one already? Or are you just asking if they are known to go broody?

Mine go broody on just three eggs. it drives me nuts. I've let one hatch a clutch last year. she was a great mama. it's her daughter that I've got on a clutch now... and lots of eggs.

I dont have any yet, just asking if they are known to go broody

I have 6 females and one male. All my welshies go broody if they get about 6 eggs. I have to check several spots around my yard that they secretly lay in after they get out of the duck house. I've only had one hen raise her own chicks, last year, and she did great.
