I 'adopted' a 3 week old welsh who is now 7 weeks old. I loved him so much I got 4 more brand new babies! They are a week old now and doing great! I have read that you can tell the sex when they are little by the head and beak color. I have two with dark heads and two with light and two with dark beaks and two with light. The problem being that one has a dark head and light beak and another has a light head and dark beak. So which is the mist likely trait to tell the sex? The head color or the beak? Thanks!!

Within the first few days you can be up to 90% accurate by beak color. Dark beak would be drake, light beak ending in a dark spot would be duck. According to Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks this difference disappears after a few days. I used it to pick out my 3, but they're only 3 1/2 weeks old so I don't know who accurate I was.
