February 22nd, 2022, I got an order from Cackle for 4 Delawares, 4 Splash Wyandottes, 4 Barnevelders, and 4 Welsummers all sexed female and vaccinated. They gave me 4 extra chicks that I assumed were one of each or the breeds I bought. This assumption holds true for the Delawares and Splashes and Welsummers as I have 5 each of them. The Barnies have me confused.
This is my first time with Cackle and Barnies. So far all of the birds have been healthy. The Barnies are by no means show grade. None have clear double lacing. But one isn't the black and brown like the others. She cinnamon. She has the dark wash on legs like the other Barnies. The other Barnies do have color variations but are degrees of black and brown. One is more brown/gold than black.
Here is a black/brown girl:
Here's is the brown/gold girl
Here's Cinnamon
Here's one of my Welsummers
Cinnamon has a lacing pattern on her chest. It's not crisp, but noticable. She isn't narrow in shape like the Welsummer. She has the darker beak and leg coloring like the Barnies. Is she an off color Barnie or something else?
Thanks!
