I have two Wellsummer hens they may be show quality when they are not in a molt and are good breeder quality now but as I said are starting to molt. Ill try and get better pics tommorow.

Name: none
Sex: Hen
Age: 1 1/2 years
Cat: Hen
Fun Fact: one of my new birds from Will Marrow trying to hatch a few of her eggs while they are still fertile from his roosters.

Here is one of her eggs

They all look pretty to me. I love their eggs. They really add to that colorful egg basket and my Welsummers are so docile and sweet.

I have some pretty speckled eggs too! My girls are pretty tame, but Larry hates my Croc's and he attacks my legs....and then I punt him like a football!

OK, now that we have a bunch on here, can anyone point out qualities that are important when selecting a welsummer and what qualities are ones to avoid. I know egg color is important, but you can't tell that by looking at the chicken.

THey sound great I wish I could have a rooster I am putting that egg and a couple others under a broody to see if the eggs from the birds I got from Will Marrow are still fertile.

Lay rate is Important, Conformation (I don't know anything about that), and Check in between their toes for feather stubs its a small problem but anything counts and thats all I know
