Welsummers aren't too common, so it would be nice if this contest can increase this wonderful breed's popularity and become more readily available on the forum.

These are my now two week Wellie chicks at 1 day old.

I got the eggs from vicki 2x2 who got some of her stock from OPA some of her eggs won champion in Michigan fair!

I will be giving away the two boys if I can find homes for them.
So sweet and cute! I need to get out and photograph them some more tomorrow

Here is our little Welsummer, Grace, the day after the others were photographed. She was extremely weak and I kept her in chickie ICU for 3 days, vitamins and electrolytes, and me up several times a night to check on her, so foolish but I got attached to her... and she went then out with the others under Mama Roxie. She is still tiny and a bit slow and a little bit of a heavy breather, but eating drinking and growing and being a good little chick for her adoptive Mom and snuggling with her big siblings. She still takes a lot of naps on her own under the heat lamp in the baby chick coop while the others are active, but when she wakes she is right in there with the others! I hope she does OK

Wheew! I made it in time. Brother in law was borrowing my camera and I just got it back in time!
This is Elliott. He was given to me by a very nice gentleman who kind of reminds me of Sam Elliott.

so far I like Rooster Man, Martha, and Lady Windsor, but I know nothing about the breed standard. all of the birds are beautiful. Mr. Sam Elliot and Elvis II are pretty handsome too!!
