I breed 1 rooster to every 4 -5 hens.

The most famous Welsummer was
the Rooster that use to be on the
Kellogs cornflake cerial box.

Behavior:
The Welsummers lay jumbo/ large eggs and the dark brown pigment can actually be rubbed off as it is added at the end of the egg laying sequence. They do go broody.

They are friendly, easily handled birds which love to free range and forage for food but can also be kept in runs quite happily.
They are excellent foragers on free range,They managing to make the most of their environment. A truly organic breed.
They Give the place a real farmyard feeling.

Breed Tips:
Good family and children friendly chicken.

Purpose:
Egg layer

Classification:
Heavy / Soft feather

Origin:
Holland

Egg Color:
Dark Brown

Egg Numbers:
200 eggs per year
