Welsummer hen × Olive Egger Roo

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but i am curious. How did your eggs turn out? I wonder if there is a way for a cross to produce green/olive speckled eggs.

If you use a Welsummer rooster who hatched from a heavily speckled egg, he should pass on speckling to at least half of his daughters.

My avatar's eggs were a greenish gray and she was crossed with a BCM rooster. Her baby hatched and she now lays eggs that look like this...

Meet my sweet little Frou Frou — my surprise Welsummer Olive Egger from Tractor Supply!
I originally ordered 10 Easter Eggers, but there must’ve been a little mix-up because I ended up with 10 Welsummer Olive Eggers instead! Oopsie, best mix-up ever!
Unfortunately, the delivery was delayed by a day, and heartbreakingly, only one tiny chick survived — my Frou Frou.

But ohhh what a chicken she is!
She’s my garden buddy 🌱, my nap partner 💤, and my best friend forever. She’s curious, friendly, and so smart — she even responds to cues and has picked up a few tricks!
Frou Frou lays the prettiest eggs and has the sweetest temperament. She’s amazing with kids, loves exploring, and always wants to be near people.

I’ve never been more grateful for a shipping mistake — this little feathered angel is pure joy.
Moving forward, I’m officially team Welsummer Olive Egger forever!
Frou Frou for president!
