Welsummer Roo

We have a Welsummer roo that is 5months old. We are trying to figure out when he should start breeding. The black copper marans roo that is the same age started breeding the day we introduced him to the ladies.

Maybe the Maran roo is top dog and intimidates the Welsummer?
We always separate our roosters with a few hens each so they won't fight.
Also, maybe the welsummer breed doesn't mature as fast as the maran?
I'm not an expert on breeds.
Normally, when my young roos are ready to breed, they dances for the hens.

We have him separated with a couple of hens, he’s still not interested. Yes the marans roo is boss, separated as well. Just not sure how much time to give the welsummer roo

I've never heard of anything like that. My roos never did that.
