i bought 12 welsummer chicks awhile back, my queston is does this breed sucm to sickness easier almost all, of them have died i have 5 left none of the others in the flock have died, most of them showed no sign of sickness, thou some had a swollen eye and a foam liquid coming out of it, and in a day or so it was dead. what could this be

I never had them die on me that quick. It could be coryza or CRD which it is fatal in most cases. Not a good thing to have. Where did you get your Welsummers?

sorry i took so long to post back, puter crashed. i got them at ideal poultry, in the same order i got silver laced wyndottes,golden laced, rhode island reds, and barred rocks. the rocks were the healtiest and still are but the wynbdottes and reds are doing just fine allso.
