We had to get blue kote for BooBoo, our little chick that keeps pulling her own feathers out. We looked in the chicken barrels and almost everything is gone, except for the cornish rocks. That was good for us, cause Dh said, "no more chickens"! He even went with us to make sure we didn't buy anymore chickens.

Well, somehow...these followed us home

He did say, "NO chickens" ,but never mentioned ducklings. LOL!

he is such a softy. All my daughter has to do is bat an eyelash and he just gives in. What is so funny is, my Dh hates ducks. He was brutally attacked by a duck as a child. He never got over it. On the way home, he told our daughter the entire story, how this huge white duck kept biting him and he couldn't get away from it. He was bitten from head to toe. Hundreds of bruises. Then...he says," I am gald the ducklings are yellow, cause if they were white, I would have said no, no matter how hard you begged me". Oh My!!!! My daughter and I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself! I still can't help but laugh. He was so serious. How do I ever tell him, we just bought 2 of the same kinds of ducks that brutalized him. Do I wait until they get their feathers, and he finds out for himself? We even got him to hold one and then plop, it pooped on him. I just can't tell him what it will look like. I will have to wait until he bonds with it.

Oh my...the cute!!! IT BURNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope your dh will get over his fear. If they're properly socialized, they will be a wonderful addition to your home!!!

Aww I love the duckies! I'm hoping to get some from TSC soon. The first picture is so adorable.

I think TSC carries different breeds of ducks, per state regulations. I know Florida has outlawed a lot of different kinds. White Pekin were all they had. You would need to call your TSC, and ask what breeds they have.

Yes, I am sure he will really enjoy them. I told him he just has to be around them, feed them, etc... My daughters and I always went to the local ponds and watched the ducks. He would never go with us. I still can't believe we bought them. I didn't tell him that he will need to make them a house yet. He just got done making the chicken taj mahal... He made a larger brooder when we got home with the ducklings. he lined it with a shower curtain, put newspaper down on the bottom w/ some pine shavings. All the chickies and ducks are so happy for the room. They were running from one side of the brooder flapping their wings, lke they were trying to take off. My husband said, "it was very cute to watch". So, he is watching them. I am sure his fear will go away. I mean, look at how adorable they are!! Who couldn't love them!
