I didn't get any of them though......jut had to pick up feed right before going to work. if I wasn't on my way to work...I probably would have bought some. anyways this year they have a large assortment of SR bantams and I wanted to insite on a few of the possible breeds. I haven't asked this year, but last year my TSC got their chicks from Privett, if that is of any help. I am not extremely familiar with bantam breeds, and need some guidance
ok so here are descriptions of a few that I was interested in:
#1- this one was amber colored, feather legged, what looked to be a straight comb. slightly darker tint on the back. and possible beard. (my first thought was Mille Fleur D'uccle or Salmon Fav, but may be wishful thinking)
#2- was greyish/blue chick, clean dark legs, black beak
#3-lemon/grey down and feathered legs, similar characteristics of #1 (maybe porc. d'uccle?)
I was being woooed by these little ones. but the 75% roo ratio was in the back of my head the whole time. while the Boys are gorgeous, and the girls that i could get would be purely for my enjoyment...i am on the fence. i need to think rationally!!!! though it is so hard when looking into their little fluffy faces! and we don't even have a brooder set up for chicks at this time. i am getting weak though!! i miss having little ones in a brooder though
I know all the info I have, might not give me many answers, but if you have a clue those would be great! also, my TSC seems to put rare breeds in witht he bantams, even if they aren't bantams. I am pretty sure the silkie I got last year is standard, it was just different than the other regular breeds they had, so they put them in with the bantams. who knows really? thanks for the help!
