I was selling my eggs in cartons my parents have collected over the years but they are dwindling, not all of my customers recycle their egg cartons back to me. How do you guys get your egg cartons that you sell in. And if you buy them where, and for how much, I went online expecting them to be like 20 cents each but most of them were a dollar or 80 cents at the least, thats a third of what I sell them for! Anyone buy custom ones with your farm name/ logo? I would love some conversations on this!

My local food coop sells farm fresh eggs and keeps a supply of used cartons for the egg sellers to grab if they're running short. I've donated dozens of extra cartons to them when I've had a large surplus.

I get my cartons from my friends who save them for me, and my egg customers return the cartons when they come to buy my eggs.

People adore saving cartons for us chicken people. Just ask around and in no time, you'll also have a huge stack. No need to buy them.

To head off comments that reusing egg cartons is not healthy, it's my choice, my customers' choice, and in twelve years, I've never had anyone get sick from this. If you're squeamish about possible contamination, just spray the cartons with a bleach solution.

Seems like a good way to get them, I think im going post an ad on our local website. I was mostly just curious about how most chicken owners get them, thank you.

I don't sell eggs but give them away frequently to friends and neighbors. They usually return them and more. You can always ask neighbors, friends and family to save/return them for you whether you gave them eggs or not. With the whole separation thing going on, do drop offs on the porch or something.

You can also find them on Amazon occasionally, or your local farm co-op. Ours will have cartons for sale about this time a year for like 10/$1 but they go fast!
