We're going to PHILLY!!!

Wow, I always wanted to see it. I'm still jealous of my sister. Her 6th grade trip was to Seattle to see the exhibit when it first came to the US. Some brave teachers took the kids 900 miles for the trip of their lifetime. several of the kids in my sister's class had never been out of Alaska before. Have fun. I do envy you. Maybe someday I'll make it to Egypt to see it.

Congrats, Spotted Crow. How cool, I'm jealous. The closest I've ever gotted to anything from Egypt was at the '84 Worlds Fair in New Orleans.
I hope yall have a wonerful trip & be safe.

I've been obsessed since I read Thomas J Hoving's book on him.I even tried to run away from home to see him back in 77 at the Met. LOL
I even managed to snag a catalog of the original exhibition at a yardsale for a buck!!
It didn't come to the Met this time because of the seperate fee for the King.
The only other Pharoah I've seen "live" was Ramses the Great when he came to the Museum of Science. That was awesome!! And the Royal Courtier, Pady-Hershel came all the way from Harvard...He had red hair and a beard...

My DH's Aunt and Uncle took us to the Met and I scared/surprised them by translating the heiroglyphics for them. Don't think I can do it now though.

They framed some posters for me for one Xmas and I have them hanging in the living room. One's the Alphabet and the other is the Three Musicians.
I have at least 15 books on Mummys, Bog Bodies, Otzi, and forgotten alphabets...Love this stuff!!!
