Starting tomorrow, we get to yet again go through the exciting adventure of hatching chicks!!

However, I've got a question, if we want around 25 chicks, realistically how many eggs should we inc?

Well that depends. Are you using fresh eggs or shipped eggs?

If they're shipped, around 50. If they're fresh then, I am no help to you. My best hatch rate of all time has been 66 percent under a broody hen.

They are fresh. We have no idea how many we should use.

I would use 35-45 depending on your rooster to hen ratio.

100. You need to use chicken math. If you set 100, only 50 will be good, and out of that 25 will be roosters. So you are really only hatching 25 chicks. Chicken math.
