It's SOOO true! We've been looking for property for a few months because we can't stand everyone up so close to us. Both my husband and myself were raised in the country and it's definitely calling us homeWelcome! And coming from someone who went from downtown NYC, to downtown Washington DC, to 20 acres outside of Charlotte, NC... get to that dream house sooner or later and get out of the city! OMG life is soooooo much better in the country if you don't need to be up in everyone's business and part of all the parties! You will lose a lot of "friends" in the process (and amazingly some family too)- but the friends you have left are the real ones.

I think because we have a 1 1/2 year old we will start with Buff Orpingtons, and then branch out from there to add some sass and color to the flock. And we're always up for suggestions!
What breeds do you plan on getting?
Buff Orpingtons are great! Of the "simple" breeds I would also recommend Barred Plymouth Rocks.I think because we have a 1 1/2 year old we will start with Buff Orpingtons, and then branch out from there to add some sass and color to the flock. And we're always up for suggestions!![]()
