The first question that come when your little chicks hatch is caged,supervised,or free-range

Caged


Caged is for people who want the least space possible (CRUEL) for there chickens and this is for small buisnesses (or large who wants the least possible space)

Supervised Free - Ranged


Supervised free range is like free ranging but from time to time (or a much as possible)

Free - Ranged


Chickens roam free (ish) most of the time the owners "clip" a chickens wings (cut the flight feathers) does not hurt the chicken at all

Me too. I used to let my girls free-range all over our fenced backyard 24-7, but we've lost too many over the years. We're building a new, permanent coop (as opposed to the moveable one we've been using), and they'll only be allowed out during the day, while we're home.
