Mine did good for a first time. My black pullet got 2nd and the partridge got 4th. He said if the black weighed more she would have gotten first and told me the black one is a real nice bird. The only thing he said needed improvement is her weight. Since she's only 8 months old, i'm sure she will put that on by the time she's an adult. The partridge he wasn't impressed with her color. Said she could have had more red. Made me wish I had taken the other one like I was going to. But he said other than her color she looked good. She laid an egg just about a m inute or two after he put her back in her cage. lol

I have to brag on the Champion. He was just beautiful. He was a splash. He certainly deserved to be champion.

I don't know his owner but she did a good job with him. And he was so friendly.

There where lots of beautiful birds there and I learned alot because the judge would discuss things about the birds as he was looking them over and giving out pointers. He was very helpful.

Congrats! We are so glad you came and entered those beautifull birds. Silkies are hard to show because so many people are showing that breed, but you do really good. Please let me know of anything you didn't like about the show and would like to see different next year.
Also if you could email me any photos you took at the show i would be greatfull. I was so busy i didnt take any. [email protected] I think Herb took some but hadn't got any from him yet.
The judge done a great job and i was very pleased with him. he got off to a late start judging but i understood he was exhausted from his drive there. My phoenix got good reviews but my Wyandottes didn't do so well and will have to make some changes in breeding.
Thanks again
Timbo

This is just our 2nd show. last year we had about 15-20 entries and this year we had around 60 entries. So next year should be even better now that word of the show is getting out. We are going to try to buy a bunch of show cages for next year we just have to raise somemore money. The cages are really nice but carry a nice price. I think the company is going to cut us a deal but still looking at alot of money. We would love to have you come to the show, but understand the drive. Right now gas prices dont help.

I took several pics. I'll get them to you. I wish I had gotten pics of the kids when they had them line up but DH was in a hurry to get back.

Hi Timbo! I live in NE Mississippi. Believe it or not, there are no poultry clubs that I know of in this area, and I know for a fact there are no shows. So, question is, are Mississippians eligible for the TN shows? Or clubs for that matter. Are Marans going to be an eligible entry next year, or are they eligible under "Other Continental" category? How does a person go about getting NPIP testing done? Any info would be helpful, and thanks in advance.
