West Texans

Well, I caught them redhanded so to speak. I followed a trail of feathers over neighboring fence. Toprail had scratches from cat climbing w chicken. Finally found bird in some brush. I heard a little noise and when I looked up there were two bobcats looking at me @ 15 ft away. Pretty cool really if they hadnt just killed all my banties but one wild rooster, then my big blue bramah hen. They didnt get exited. Just cruised away. Ive since built a covered run. Sorry about my typing, im on my mobile.

Sorry about your loss Clint. I know how it feels, I once had a wild house cat problem. But their population has since dwindled to onle a sly few.
Hey there Kevin, how is Waco doing these days.

thanks kari. Thats good advice. I kind of thought that others would just move in to fill the niche. The two i moved were young but not babies. Maybe @ 25 lbs. Mom is still around. Shes huge. And bold. I guess they cant read the city limit sign. They are such beautiful animals I dont to hurt Them. the Game Warden Said I Should Shoot Them. Do you think i could reason with A cat? jk hopefully if we have better weather next year shell want to move away from town.

what kinds of birds do you raise bigbird? I have a friend who use to run a hatchery in odessa. Mine are mostly of the mongrel race, some might say. 1 rir hen, 1 blue sumatra hen, 2 ameracauna-ish hens, 1 bbr oeg bantam rooster, 2 sumatra!-cuckoo cross roosters: George and Zanzabar. They both have beards so they may or may not be FULL BLOODED MUTTS. My hens are laying like crazy in this cold weather. No extra light. Heck yeah!

You would be suprised at the amount of bobcats moving into urban and suburban areas. We get the majority of our calls from a heavily populated area in the metroplex. There is good reason for it too! Look at the way we live...nice, manicured lawns watered regularly, water features, koi ponds, bird baths, all of those things lead to more things like bunnies, birds, and squirrels, coupled with our storage sheds and outdoor patios that make perfect dens, and it equals a perfect haven for bobcats ^.^ They are not dumb! We have created perfect habitat for bobs...food, water, shelter, and safety...
