I don’t know why I didn’t see your post earlier. I just spent all summer trying to find a little bit of homesteading land. It’s very irritating. So many companies and investors own our land. Very little farms for sale or land that can be farmed. I think it can be done but may take a while to find.I've never been to Parkersburg but always wanted to! I'm sure it's nicer than the coal town I grew up in.All the large tracts of land here are owned by people other than those who live here.We all live along the roads but not on the mountain top. I wish the people who owned these large tracts would sell some of it to the people here so we could increase our tax base and have a few farms.The only thing here is coal.
