I live in NH, and of course the weather doesn’t know what it’s supposed to do. Last Sunday we had a snow storm. And today it was rainy and close to the 50’s. My chickens got wet and tonight it’s supposed to get down to about 25 degrees real feel about 18. My question is should I be concerned for them freezing or will their body heat dry them and keep them warm? What can I do to dry them up a bit? If needed

They should be able to handle that. Make certain they have decent air flow as temperature drops. Hopefully relative humidity will drop as cold front moves in. Mine typically dry out overnight as sky clear even when roosting in trees. They can handle some ice in plumage. My assumption is they are under some sort of cover while on the roost.

Yes, at night they are cooped up. I close their coop door every night. During the day they can walk around their run

We had that cold rain then dropping temps....one hen was eating ice crystals off the cockbirds back at roosting time. They are all alive, but frostbite on combs is prevalent.

They seemed fine this morning. Eating as usual, I think they may have gotten a little frostbite from when we had a very cold and windy day after the snowstorm. There’s white at the tips of their combs.
