Wet Chickens

Anything to do to make their life a little better?.Be raining here in OhiO since forever.Wet ,cool and damp.Been putting the lamp on them for a couple of hours after dark to dry them off and give them some warm.Not fully grown yet.Been a tough spring here!!!! Kevin

Honestly, I don't worry about wet chickens. I figure it's just part of being a chicken. And I think sometimes they actually enjoy the rain!

If they have shelter (which is essential) and bedding, they will warm themselves.
I like to use different types of straw and grass hay for bedding. Shavings are nice too.

Thanks!!!! I think they are doing ok ,but ya never know.Been giving them oatmeal for extra and they love it.Yep they have a "box" to get into out of the rain.I do think they like the rays of the light to warm and dry them off in the early evening.Kevin
