Yesterday our hens got totally drenched in the rain. Despite having the choice to go into their house for shelter they just stay outside in the pouring rain.

Could this be a problem for their health (it’s getting very cold at night now) or am I just being paranoid?

I'm sure you will find a lot of great info on here.

My girls do the same thing when it rains, I have no idea why they would rather stand in the rain than go into there coop but I dont belive it will harm them, I haven't had any problems !!!!!

My standards don't seem to mind a drizzle, especially because their legs are long enough to keep them up above the wet grass. My little banty cochin, however, skirts the edges of the yard and stays under the house/garage eaves & bushes. She'll stand there & look m-i-s-e-r-a-b-l-e. Poor girl.
