This chick is 2 weeks old. Since we got her she's always been smaller and a little scruffy looking. Her face looks wet but it's crusty feeling. I don't notice the others picking any more than they do the others. Any ideas? Thanks!

Welcome To BYC

Observe her to see if she's spilling water when she drinks.
What do you feed?
Have you looked inside the beak for any lesions or yellow pasty material?
I have watched her drink, seems normal. They're eating Scratch and Peck starter feed. I haven't checked her beak. I'll do that as soon as I can. Thanks for the response!

She woke up, so I was able to check sooner than I thought...I didn't want to disturb her. 🙂 Anyways, I didn't see any lesions or yellow pasty material.

Hmmm...I don't know then. Does the skin look like it's weeping or anything like that?
She may have just gotten soiled and the fluff looks different?
No, I don't see any sort of weeping. I'll try wiping it with a warm towel, maybe that will help fluff it back up. Thanks for your help!
