We don't use store-bought products, we create our own all-natural products. With that being said since she was just muddy I felt safe just rinsing her off in warm water and blow-drying her so she would be warm when I placed her back on her roost. We are strong believers in allowing mother nature to take its course with as little intervention as necessary. I was just concerned about her being chilled and I had no idea that the mud could prevent her from preening. We are less than a year into raising chickens so I appreciate all that I can learn from those who know what they are doing. Thank you all for the knowledge. This site has been a blessing to us.Good point! Which soaps could one use?
