Wet necks.

I keep my feather footed banties on shavings in a large indoor cage. Two of them have wet feathers just under their beaks all the time. If I drop the water dishes any lower, they joyfully fill them with shavings. Any thoughts?

Could you minimize the size of the opening for the waterer?? Maybe add something on top that only allows them to reach so far into the waterer...
