recently my hens and 5 chicks born late July started with signs of wet pox. it has been about 14 days now and they have pretty big wart like scabs on their face. the also stretch their necks at times and open their beaks not sure why though. they do not scratch the floors anymore like they used to. chicks are now about 2 months old and they still eat but some are spitting out a clear fluid from their beaks and to make matters worst this morning some of their ears seemed to have popped completely out!! the mom hen has the warts even on her neck so i have separated her from the chicks now but im worried what to do next. ive gently cleaned their ears with a Q tip removed the scab blocking their ears and a lot of yellow cheesy looking like gunk came out.. PLEASE HELP!

welcome to backyard chickens!
Sorry for your troubles. I have never had my flock catch this but i did some reading and it says birds can recover.
It apears that chickens get this from contact with an infected bird or spread By mescitos.
Hard boil some eggs and crush them. Then add some of the oil vitamins, A,B,D and E. This helps to boost the birds imune system and helps them fight the pox
If you have chicken vitamins that will help. It says not to add to the water as they cant get enough that way.
Treat the open sores with iodine, and any to close to the eyes and mouth with triple antiobotic cream.
They say that antiobiotics will not help fight the pox as there is no medical cure, but may help with any secondary infections that may spring up.
What i read said nothing about the ear drum issue.
I wish you good luck!
