:(smells, any one have a idea what to put down to combat the smell.

I use powder lime to help with the odor inside my coop.It doesn't appear to be harmful to my chickens or ducks.I sprinkle a coat of lime on the coop floor and rake it in.You may want to get other ideas from other people, but this works good for me.

I had a problem with a wet run. I have a converted dog pen that houses my chicks. Every few months I will put down a few bags of mulch. I get it from any home improvement store. It seems to last a long time and the chicks love to play in it. When it rains it still keeps the babies off of the wet ground. This works for me.

For the smell, I use the stall dry. I don't know if its the same as lime?

check out the post about using sand in the run..I tried it and it works great! I called my local paving and sand company and they dropped 1 ton for 30.00 bucks.
