We've Got Eggs!

Five months and three weeks into hen keeping, we've got eggs! Well, egg.

When checking The Girls this afternoon I noticed two eggs in one of the nesting boxes. For a half a second I wondered how did they managed to move a second wooden egg into the box? Then it hit me – IT’S A REAL EGG! Wahoo!

I was so excited, you'd think I laid the egg myself!

That's great! It's been a long time since my very first egg, but each time a pullet begins laying, I get to experience another first. Just today, my Coronation Sussex pullets both layed an egg for the first time. I was really glad to see that as I was wondering if it was about time.......
