I just found this tiny little egg behind my coop! I'm assuming it came from one of my Easter Eggers. What? Why? Huh?

Wow! How old are your hens? Sometimes new layers lay tiny eggs. Also, sometimes hens lay 2 eggs at once, with a big one and a tiny one.

They are new layers, the lady I got them from said she got them in the in the spring. One of them does usually lay a slightly smaller egg then the other, but not this small haha. So it's pretty normal then?

Weve seen some as small as blue jays eggs from new layers pretty neat.

We sure got a kick out of it haha. My son wanted to cook it up, but I wasn't sure how long it had been sitting out there.
