Obviously I don't know how to ad pictures. I got a new laptop from Santa and I don't have any computer savvy sorry!

To add a photo simply click on the blue box in the middle that says "Upload a File". Search your computer for the photo you want to show, click "Thumbnail or "Full Image". The photo will be added to your message. Click "Post Reply" and you are done! You can do it! And I wanna see your pictures!

yeah California greys look like barred rocks but they lay white eggs and Hollands hens look like barred rocks but I don't know what color eggs they lay...

Hollands lay white eggs, too. When I ordered chicks from Ideal, thats what I asked for, but they called me before shipment and informed me that breed wasnt available, but could send the Production Blacks
Not pleased with the PBs. Small white eggs.

Sorry they didn't have what you wanted and you were disappointed with the PB's. So far all my orders have been from Cackle and they are really good folks to work with. They always include one or two extra chicks of the same breed. I talked to a friend who bought from Ideal and he said they were always out or short of what he ordered.

So far I've mostly ordered heavy breeds like rocks, australorps, orpingtons and New Hampshires. I did order Welsummers and Easter Eggers once. They were great chickens. I really have had good luck with Cackle. I got an order of their red meat chickens one time and they were really something! They grew fast and were nice to have around. I kept several and they turned out to be good free rangers the others got fat fast and were tasty.

Saw the title and read all the posts and chuckled. I have two "barred rocks" that I think are either mixed or didn't get the memo that they are supposed to be brown layers. They lay pristine white eggs.

This is General Tso, she's our funny chicken. Her hatch mate looks exactly like her but a bit more white.

Nice flock! I love the one jumping in the air! I bet you do miss the variety of chicken color. I'm sure you will add different breeds later on. Thanks for sharing your photo.
