I just had to come tell, and ask about this strange thing that happened this morning.
I went to let the girls out. They were still on their roosts as usual. They came down like they always do, a couple of them looking in the nesting boxes as they walked down the ramp. I put a golf ball in each nest yesterday. Then the one chicken jumped to the ground, made some loud noises, and ran out and down the outside ramp like her butt was on fire. Lol.. I'm still laughing about it. The other were a bit unnerved by it. Now they're all fine and pecking around in the grass.
But why did she act like that? And the others didn't. We did start them on some layer feed and oyster shell a few days ago or so. Is she ready to lay and it freaked her out? Is she mentally unbalanced? Lol..
I'd appreciate some replies and outlooks about this.
