Pullets can get green sheen too.

A lot of my black hens show a green shine as well.

Agree with above posters, this bird looks to be a pullet. Most black birds can have the green sheen, regardless of gender.

Its a hen green sheen means its getting fed a good diet its purple sheen you dont want

No, it's a black bird thing. You should see my split-to-lavender girls shine in the sun.

My understanding is that green vs purple have to do with the genetic based undercolor beneath the extended black. But I can't say that I really understood what I read about it.
