I’ve managed to order some blue silkie cuckoo hatching eggs. Would like to get a different male next year for any girls we hatch so we hatch some genetically diverse chicks of our own next year. Have a whole run set aside for them.

I keep seeing blue and then blue cuckoo, is there a difference? Is it that slight ripple in the colouring of them as opposed to a solid blue?

would like to keep colours clean so will look for a boy later in the year I would like to avoid line breeding if I can.

There is blue cuckoo, which is the cuckoo pattern in a blue color.

Then there is the color blue, where the chicken is simply blue.

FYI, a barred chicken is where the black and white stripes on the feathers are crisp. A cuckoo chicken is where the black and white stripes on the chicken are blurred so are more off white and not quite black.
