I am relatively new to raising chickens, and I have never heard this hilarious squirrel-chatter noise come out of a chicken before. Is this a typical chicken noise? 10 week EE. She (maybe he) is a little stressed because she’s outside the coop and can’t find her friend (who is back in the coop).

The video isn’t working for me

I have multiple hens who tid-bit often and who have done it since they were chicks, they do it when they find something that they really really like! The other hens will run over to see what she has and they try to take it but the one who was tid-bitting will quickly eat it and give the others a peck or a glare. 😂

Definitely tidbit-ting, Hens also do it for their baby chicks.

Red wings DO look boyish.. And he does not appear stressed to me.

*What* I can make out* of comb and wattles aren't yet screaming cockerel at the stated age for a non bearded bird. :fl
Oh, I sure hope you’re right! Over on the sexing forum the majority are pretty confident they’re looking at a cockerel, but I’d love it if they were wrong!
