What’s with thIs bagawking?

Hi- I’ve got a group of pullets ranging 10-16 weeks old and today I came out to find the little silkie hiding (she’s about 10 wks) When I moved her she set to trumpeting. It sounds like egg song but she’s far to young to lay and the other 16 week pullet joined her. Predator song? Something else?

Seems like it might be a predator alarm.

My girls have never sung the egg song. One afternoon they were making a racket, and I ran down to the coop. Egg song times three girls, looking into the brush, running back and forth, acting very agitated. I think it was a raccoon that spooked them.

'Egg song' and alarm calls sound very similar.
