What’s wrong w/nest boxes?

Pics
In case you are still reading replies, I'm ignoring the nest box issue.

You want your roosts higher than your nests. Hens roost (and poop) in the highest possible place if it's not uncomfortable, and when you do put bottoms in those nests, they will be comfortable.

I’m here. I’m here...I wasn’t getting notifications about replies like I have been for my other threads. As a matter of fact, I have been hunting eggs. I’ve got an incubator loaded up. I’ve been hanging out in the incubation forum. That experiment has been keeping me busy, along with having bronchitis for 2 weeks, working full time, and taking care of our 5 month old baby. The chicken coop is on standby until spring break. From what I’ve gathered, there is no 100% correct way to do it. My coop isn’t big enough to rearrange. I may build on over the run part and move the roost there. Then there’s the matter of the ramp. I don’t know how biddies get out of nest boxes without a ramp. But, if I put a ramp in it’ll be at a 60+ degree incline. Sounds a little too steep. I will get rid of the pvc and swap to a 2x4. Thank you to those that gave recommendations. I appreciate the pictures. Now, there’s lots of work to do, Scooby.

Mine get into and out of nesting boxes at waist height fine. For the silkies and escape artists who've had their wings clipped, I have a 'stepstool' or an overturned bucket that they can hop onto and thence to the nesting boxes.

Block top nests, not needed.
Put new roosts above bottom nests.
Add perch 8" out in front of bottom nests.
Ramp angle can be decreases by putting a 16" concrete block(or something) under bottom of ramp.
