Thays cool I live in iowa and my Rhode island red is a chick I found when I was visiting Minnesota. I found her by the highway and took her home...to become my flock she is a year old now. And she is my favorite chicken.

This is an Eagle Scout Mentor pin. They are given by Scout to the people who they feel helped guide them on their journey to Eagle above and beyond just normal leadership roles. In the troop I was involved in, receiving one was a huge honor. I've been given 3 over the years. This one was the last one I got before I retired from scouting. The young man in question took me by complete surprise when he presented it to me, because I didn't work with him directly on his Eagle project. In his words "You've led all of us every day by the example you set, and by the person you are. We all owe you this pin."

Yeah, sentimental. Sue me.
