So the chickies are in the loft in a HUGE box...16 of them. They have mostly been quietly chirping up until last night (they are now 19 days old) when I put in a thicker roost for them since their feet are so big now. The inlaws are staying upstairs in another loft room and I was worried about the chicks disturbing them with the chirping. Well since that roost has been in there you would think they are..I dunno...but super loud half the night pecking and shoving each other off that roost. Im in the office down stairs with the door closed and I can hear them. Im not going to be popular after 3 more days of this. They already think Im nuts having the birds in the house. I guess we have just hit that super noisy stage huh?

But isn't it music to your ears? I say that because the most chicks I've ever had (so far) at one time is 3...

Mine are 1 month old today. And they love to raise cain. We are raising them in the house too. But we won't do this again. I love them but the dust and the smell and the noise is alot. So off they go to the shed today.

My 6 babies are 14 days old. Seems like the older they get, the noisier they get. They were super noisy this morning at the crack of dawn. I checked on them. They have plenty of fresh water, food, and the temperature is just right. I guess they are just happy and ready to start their day. I didn't realize they'd make such a racket! They are also inside my house.

If I want mine to be quiet, I put some Start N' Grow in a blender and make it smaller, like cornmeal consistency, and pour it on a couple layers of paper towel on their floor. They will got NUTS over it and eat like little pigs, and then get quiet and sleepy afterward, LOL.

My 19 chicks are 14 days old and they are noisy and inquisitive! Ok, they are nosey! They have found how to get on the top of their water bottles and they are sparring with each other every waking moment - but I love hearing their noise because it means they are healthy! They have been in the dining room in two- 45 gallon rubbermaid tubs so I could regulate temperatures better. They are moving to the heated front porch this weekend into a bigger brooder and I am ready! I just adore looking at them.......
