What A Scare!!!

Got home tonight and went to shut up the coop and counted my chickens and only had four of nine!!!!!

ran for the wife she came out and counted still 4 and for the first time the let me pet them... so we are thinking what got in the coop?? cannot find any holes dug or any tears in the netting over the run... we are at a loss. we go outside and start calling 4 them. in the mean time the rooster I find inside sleeping by the nest boxes hidden. so up to 5. go back outside with wife and we are searching as its dark now. No luck

Go back in shed and on the left hand wall where I built the coop the chicken wire and the ceiling do not meet and lo and behold are the missing 4 hens sleepin on the chicken wire!!!! Wife and I died from laughing so hard. Its 8 feet off the ground for goodness sakes. I have no idea how they got up there. Well tommorow I will board that part up since they could have flown down into my shed side and gotten free!!! goofy chickens

They are only ten weeks old....sigh

So funny.. now! I was counting last night.. turns out a few of them were squished inside the nest boxes! Whew!

Reminds me of the time my parents were visiting and my husband and I were at work. One of our Boston terriers was missing. My parents looked everywhere, calling, etc. No dog. My mother started yelling at my dad for letting the dog get outside and lost, my father swearing up and down he didn't do that...

They went to get their coats and start looking around the neighborhood when my father noticed something in the big, fluffy pillows on the bed. Yes, the missing Boston terrier sleeping comfortably in the softest, most luxurious bed in the house.
