What about an egg swap????

Well thats certainly good news. Like KSAcres said, we originally talked about a general swap, and that was Karri's original idea. So in an effort to get the ball rolling I thought I'd write a ruff draft of what we can do. If anyone thinks I'm out of place please tell me, I don't want to step on any toes.

The first thing we need to decide upon is dates.
KSAcres mentioned doing it as we originally talked about, thats fine with me. This first time may be short notice for some, but there's always next month. So if thats the way we are going then
Post in the thread which has yet to be created by Midnight 2/14/08. That will give whoever is matching people up til 3/1/08 to announce who is trading with who. At that point a list will be posted. Its your responsibility to contact that person and arrange the details. If for some reason you get no response, or your trading partner can't come thru, maybe we can match people with those problems with each other. I don't know, any ideas?
Next we need to decide on catagories. What I have seen suggested so far is:
Mutts:
Large Breed
Bantums
Pure Breed:
Large Breed
Bantoms
Other Fowl
Anything

Anything else?

I don't know how everyone else feels but I think this swap is for fun, to increase everyones experience with different breeds. If someone is looking for something specific then the trading forum will better suit your needs, or if you see something you really want here you can PM that person and see if you can work out a trade. This is ment to be a grab bag kinda thing.

This is gonna be a work in progress for a while, and we will have bugs to work out.
I think we should start a new post each month, just to keep things tidy. We could start one the day after the old one clooses.

What do you guys think, just my thoughts.
I'm thinking we should have a comittee of 2 of 3 people to handel this then if someone has to leave the other two know whats going on. Like I said before I don't want to be incharge, but I'll help.

Ok, I'm in. Right now I have Mutts, both large fowl and bantams. My purebreds either aren't sorted yet, hence, mutts or aren't laying reliably yet. Do you want more info on what type of mutts and are we suposed to give some very general idea of what we would like in turn? Just let me know what info you need and I will supply it. Woo Hoo, can't wait!

I would like to suggest that whomever sends the eggs tries to avoid sending alot of pointy ended eggs as they tend to be roos. It's far from 100%, but it does help keep the numbers on them down.
