What about feeding Marigolds?

As I was dead heading my Marigolds I thought that may be the girls would like them. I have seen the flower petals used as an edible garnish for humans - so wondering if it would be OK for the girls. What do you think?

I use marigolds in my veggie garden to keep undesirable insects away.

actually the purina feed company beat you to it
several yrs ago when they redid their laying feed they started to add marigolds to the feed to help the chickens have darker orange yolks so go for it as they will eat them
